How to Hold a Camera

How to hold a camera may sound easy and does not need to be learned. In fact, one fundamental thing that must be learned in using a DLSR camera is how to hold the camera properly. Especially when considering the weight of DSLR cameras are quite heavy. With a good grip technique, we can reduce the camera shake and produce sharper images.

The first thing you do when you are holding the camera is stick your elbow into your ribs and ballance your camera on your left hand, in that way you can move the focus and the zoom ring with your left fingers.

Right hand holds the camera grip and control all the dials and the shutter release button. So the right hand is for controling the camera and the left hand for supporting the camera. You can see from the picture below right way to hold your camera.

The other thing to do is to make sure your eye touching the eyepiece and put the strip around your neck, just in case your camera falls off.
